What the evidence supports
Craig synthesizes evidence linking interoception and anterior-insula processing with subjective feeling and awareness. Barrett and Simmons provide a predictive-processing model in which ascending bodily signals constrain interoceptive predictions.
What it does not establish
These sources do not show that bodily signals determine conscious interpretation, that one brain region explains awareness, or that the predictive-interoception model is the only account of how bodily signals contribute to experience.
Context
The August 11 Working Map alignment explicitly normalizes Chapter 7 note 7.1 to this concrete framing. The Human OS claim remains a bidirectional loop rather than physiological determinism.
